Wellbeing rests on four pillars of health - a healthy body, mind, relationships and a healthy environment. When we are busy, stressed or ill it can be difficult to be mindful of all the aspects of our health, I like to use a check list -

Sustain –Body & Brain    Environment – Nature    Awareness – Mind    Love- Relationships    SEAL

Sustain - the body
  • Sustenance - sunshine, clean air & water, healthy food

  • Safety & shelter 

  • Step, stretch & strengthen  - move more, including activities that strengthen muscles & bones

  • Sleep - relaxation time & a good nights sleep

Environment

  • Enjoy - spend time in nature 

  • Economy -  reduce waste, reuse, recycle, restore, revolutionise - our energy & food system to circular  

  • Equity - share resources, avoid products that damage people or nature

  • Engage - protect & restore nature, reduce, eliminate & clean up pollution

Awareness - the mind

  • Attitude  - choose & cultivate a helpful attitude of mind
  • Aims - focus on meaning & purpose in life
  • Actions - choose actions consistent with your values
Love - relationships

  • Listen - to others & try to understand their ideas & experiences

  • Let go, Let Be - resolve & reduce conflict

  • Life dreams - support others with their aims
